Exhibition

A major retrospective exhibition celebrating the life and work of Abigail McLellan took place in November 2012 at The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery in London. The paintings, sculptures and prints on show spanned her all too short career – starting with work made when a student and following the development of her unique portrait style and how this was linked to her signature flower compositions. Looking at how she developed her technique of layering acrylic paint of varying translucencies the show examined how this spare compositional discipline evolved into near abstraction. Her mature style continued this process of capturing an essence through exactitude and simplification. A new book  was published to accompany the exhibition and is available from The Rebecca Hossack Art Gallery.
